DJI Aeroscope is already in Ukraine: airport security protected by technology
04/24/2018 on the territory of the subsidiary enterprise "UkrAeroRukh", the official presentation of DJI AeroScope took place: technologies for organizing airport security and tracking drone flights.
The DJI Aeroscope system was demonstrated by DroneUA – national integrator of unmanned technologies, together with the State Enterprise "Ukreerorukh".

«DJI AeroScope – this is not a restriction measure, it is a tool for monitoring and detecting possible violations in the use of unmanned equipment in the territory restricted for UAV flights,” — emphasized Fevzi Ametov.
To guarantee safety, it is necessary to create not only rules of conduct, but also tools for tracking unauthorized flights near sensitive facilities and zones. One of the elements of such a system is DJI AeroScope.
Operating principle
AeroScope technology is based on the use of an already existing communication line between the drone and the remote control. Thanks to this, information about the device is collected, including its location, distance to the operator, flight route, serial number and other telemetric data. If the system detects the penetration of a flying platform into a restricted area, this will give law enforcement and regulatory authorities the opportunity to use the information received for appropriate actions.
Range
The operator of a mobile surveillance system is able to simultaneously track up to 50 aircraft.
The range of the mobile station is from 3 to 5 km. The range of the stationary version of the tracking station is from 30 to 35 km.
During operation, the system receives and records the following data:
UAV ID – a unique serial number of the platform, with which, through official importers and distributors, you can identify the buyer or owner of the drone
The direction and speed of the drone – the information is used to analyze the situation and predict possible penetration into the area restricted for drone flights.
The coordinates and altitude of the UAV flight, as well as the coordinates of the take-off point and the coordinates of the operator — for rapid response in situations requiring interaction with the operator. The system is not intended to influence the platform, but it allows you to determine with an accuracy of several meters the place where the drone was launched and where its pilot is located.
Cost of equipment sets
The cost of devices for mobile or stationary versions is not disclosed. Each equipment supply process is separately agreed upon with the manufacturer to exclude the possibility of unauthorized use of monitoring systems.
Who is this equipment intended for
The ability to order AirSense complexes is provided exclusively to state-owned enterprises, such as Airports or airfields, special. services and first responders, penitentiary system enterprises, etc.
The equipment will not be available for mass sale.
Interest in detection technologies
The emergence of technology has attracted widespread public attention. The presentation was attended by representatives of the state aviation service, airports, state enterprises in the field of aviation, law enforcement agencies, as well as private entrepreneurs and developers of innovative technologies, and the media.
A number of services and enterprises have already become interested in purchasing the technology.
In Ukraine, AeroScope technology will be used primarily by state-owned enterprises to control airspace over important strategic objects. For government enterprises and regulatory authorities, the presence of this technology provides the ability to remotely track and identify drones. The system creates an additional level of security, as well as the ability to create a more effective and complete set of response mechanisms. The issue of safety is especially relevant for aviation.
