Droneua joined the project to develop communities in the Carpathian
Serhiy Andrushenko, head of the division, UAV pilot-operator from the company, became a trainer for representatives of youth initiatives from Prykarpattia. He conducted theoretical and practical tasks, after which the initiative group from Horodnytsia and Nadvirnaya performed their first launches.
The terms of the project state that drones should be used to monitor the state of the environment. Nadvirnya nature conservationists are going to investigate the state of green areas on the territory of the Gorgana nature reserve and natural monuments. They hope that UAVs will help gather the necessary information to add the mud volcano in Starun to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Moreover, in Horodnytsia, the initiative group, together with the village headman, has already used a drone to investigate the condition of the roadway, the movement of which was complicated due to weather conditions.
DroneUA pilots will also conduct training for youth initiative groups from the villages of Manyava and Vytvytsia and the city of Ivano-Frankivsk.
"The next component of the project will be conducting training on reducing risks from emergency situations with the participation of representatives of local fire services, emergency services, police, etc. This will help initiative groups to become better prepared to counter natural and man-made hazards. Such simulation exercises will take place in each of the youth initiative groups," says Maria Kelii, the coordinator of the project in the Carpathian region.
The project "Join, interact, create: youth for the development of cohesive and sustainable communities" is funded by the Embassy of Great Britain and supports the efforts of the Government of Ukraine to strengthen sustainable development and community cohesion through the involvement of youth.
