The largest International IT Championship “Golden Byte” has ended in Ukraine!
10,000 students from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Belarus, Lithuania took part in the International IT Championship “ Golden Byte ”! 230 IT industry leaders assessed projects that could change the technological history of the world and become the next “unicorns”. The Championship final brought together 100 of the strongest projects that competed for a prize fund of UAH 500,000.
“Golden Byte” is supported by leading companies InterSystems , Intel , Dell , Microsoft , Wolf , Logitech , Stearling Studio . The organizer of the Championship is the STEP International Computer Academy .
International IT Championship “Golden Byte” is a startup industry platform for finding new ideas and talents. The main goals are to encourage young professionals to introduce innovations and business ideas, to help investors and venture funds find strong projects, and to reveal Ukraine’s potential in the IT field on the international stage. A platform where young IT specialists can get expert opinion from global industry gurus, establish contacts and, most importantly, attract investment for the development of their project.
Recognized IT industry gurus were invited to select the finalist projects: Alexander Olshansky (president of Internet Invest), Margarita Ostapchuk (information technology specialist at Microsoft Ukraine), Denis Pasechnik (technology evangelist at Microsoft Ukraine), Yuriy Mykolyshyn (marketing director at Intel Ukraine), Alexander Olenev (Manager of educational and maker programs at Intel in Ukraine and the CIS countries), Evgeniy Demchenko (head of the web design group 1+1 media), Alexey Smekhov (creative director of SPN Communications Ukraine), Andrey Milinevsky (Director of Digital Transformation Kyivstar company), Alexander Popov (co-founder and managing partner of Terrasoft) and many others.
During the finals, participants presented various projects:
- Smart city project with a smart lighting system, air quality control, as well as protection against bicycle thefts and automatic calling of the police.
- A smart bracelet that transmits data about a person upon a handshake.
- Manipulator for moving objects for people with disabilities.
- Kids GPS tracker to ensure the safety of children and transmit their location.
- A program to increase the number of jobs and control over officials.
- A project to reduce the risk of accidents and monitor the technical condition of a car via a smartphone.
- Library of books with augmented reality.
- Mobile application for searching for free parking spaces.
- A smart device for making cocktails controlled via a mobile device and many others.
The best startup was recognized as a project of Lutsk students for the agricultural sector - an innovative approach to growing crops using modern technologies - MAGS, a new technology that will help companies increase yields and significantly increase their income.
The organizer of the Championship is the STEP International Computer Academy, with the support of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and the Kyiv City State Administration. Partners are InterSystems , Intel , Dell , Microsoft , Wolf , Logitech , Stearling Studio, Drone.UA and other IT industry leaders.
Participants had the opportunity to realize their ideas and start a successful career, as many finalists received offers to undergo internships and work in the best IT companies and creative agencies, and the most interesting projects received development grants, which became possible thanks to the large-scale support of the Championship from international IT - companies
