DroneUA became partners in the STEM initiative — international project for the popularization of scientific and technical specialties.
Within the framework of the project “STEM: Professions of the Future” DroneUA conducted master classes for 10th grade students and talked about the prospects of working in the agricultural sector.
Master classes were held in the most proactive schools — Scandinavian gymnasium and Economic and Legal Lyceum of the ІІ-ІІІ degrees of the Desnyansky district. Schoolchildren were told about drones, environmental monitoring, as well as trends in the development of innovative technologies in agricultural business and their application in Ukraine.
The task of DroneUA as one of the key innovators in the Ukrainian agricultural sector is to promote the training of quality personnel and the development of innovative specialties. Nowadays, the problem of education in agricultural universities of Ukraine and the interest of young specialists is acute.
“As it turns out, the younger generation has a distorted view of agriculture. Many people imagine themselves as IT specialists in the future, but the agricultural sector is not considered a promising industry. The DroneUA team told schoolchildren that the agricultural market in Ukraine is changing dramatically, and agriculture needs robotics engineers, designers, gis specialists, scientists and even pilots. The largest Ukrainian agricultural holdings suffer from a lack of qualified personnel and there is a huge demand for technical specialties.” — notes Valery Yakovenko, co-founder of DroneUA.

STEM – this is a project aimed at increasing the level of education in technical and scientific specialties, where S-science, T-technologies, E-engineering, M-mathematics. The project is being implemented within the framework of the European organization CSR Europe (Brussels) – "STEM Agenda for Europe".
