The domestic agricultural sector remains an important part of the Ukrainian economy, despite the volatile environment and ongoing challenges. Currently, the agricultural sector is demonstrating a significant strengthening of its position in international markets through exports, with 61% of Ukraine's total exports to 170 countries and 57% to the EU. This situation demonstrates Ukraine's high production capacity and significant potential in the process of future European integration of the domestic agricultural sector, which opens up both new opportunities and creates a number of challenges. It was the impact of Ukraine's future accession to the EU on the agricultural business that became the central topic of the XV International Conference “Effective Management of Agricultural Companies” (LFM), which took place on 12 September 2024. Therefore, as the headliner of the market for the implementation of robotic and unmanned solutions in the agricultural sector, DroneUA joined the event.

The event brought together more than 400 participants, including top managers of leading agricultural companies, producers and processors of agricultural products, investors and industry experts, representatives of resource and service companies, as well as innovative start-ups. Together, the experts conducted a comprehensive analysis of topical issues,  including Ukraine's prospects for trade with the EU, financial support for the restoration and automation of the agricultural sector, further strategic development of the agricultural sector and investment, reform of the state land market, and economic and environmental aspects of the industry.

The event featured panel discussions and expert presentations that comprehensively covered the key issues and challenges facing Ukrainian agribusiness today.

Having outlined the key market trends and Ukrainian prospects, experts agree that the Europeanisation of the Ukrainian agricultural sector will provide long-term benefits in terms of greater access to the EU and US markets, attracting investment and participation in European support programmes. “Before this, the domestic agricultural sector must undergo a transformation, in particular, in the use of only permitted pesticides, improving animal welfare, regulating GMOs and carbon footprint”, - said Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

A qualitative change in the situation and a shortened path to the implementation of European agricultural standards are possible through the use of innovative technologies and resource-saving approaches in production. In particular, the integration of digital and unmanned solutions, such as drones and robotics, will help to optimise processes and implement technology that provides a cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach to farming. The expertise and experience of the Ukrainian agro-drone market will greatly facilitate the transition of the domestic agricultural sector to the strict requirements of the EU and ensure long-term development and sustainable impact on the international market.

DroneUA expresses its gratitude to the “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” and UCABevent for organising a large-scale event that transforms the agricultural industry and highlights crucial topics on the way to a new modern future for the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
