The integration of agricultural drones into modern agriculture plays a key role in increasing crop yields, optimizing production and increasing business profitability.
Despite the unstable economic situation and current challenges, Ukraine remains a leader in the cultivation of high-margin crops. The use of unmanned technologies to optimize agricultural production significantly increases the efficiency of agricultural processes and contributes to the growth of farmers' profits.
So, on October 30, 2024, DroneUA held a scientific and practical online conference "Agrodrones VS Classic: the results of the research field", within the framework of the joint research project of DroneUA, LLC "Summit-Agro Ukraine" and the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine (NUBiP) with the participation Departments of entomology, integrated plant protection and quarantine at the Faculty of Plant Protection, Biotechnology and Ecology.
Resource-saving technologies for the protection of corn, sunflower and winter wheat with the systematic use of agro-drones
Mykola Dolya, doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, member-cor. The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine noted the main aspects of efficiency that ensures the use of agricultural drones, namely:
- timeliness;
- quality;
- manufacturability.
On the basis of field studies carried out as part of a joint project between NUBip and DroneUA, the expert noted a reduction in the negative impact of pests and diseases on experimental crop types and tracked the reduction of non-productive area due to the absence of technological tracks in the process of technological operations thanks to agrodrones.
"A perspective with an understanding of pathogens, their species, assessment of their phenology, biological indicators, as well as timeliness is achieved at the expense of agrodrones. "Understanding the range of harmful species, the most efficient and effective method of control can be achieved using agrodrones," the expert notes.
Bee pollination as an additional tool for increasing yield
Oleksandr Oliynyk, head of the registration and product development department of Summit-Agro Ukraine LLC, spoke about the importance of attracting bees to pollinate high-margin crops (sunflower, rapeseed, buckwheat, and mustard) by applying attractants.
In particular, the expert noted the importance of taking into account factors that can negatively affect bee pollination, as well as substantiated the economic benefits of applying the attractant by agro-drones and shared the experiments that were carried out jointly with DroneUA.
Results of field research. Plans for 2025 in the development of agricultural drone technology
Anatoliy Bezolyuk, the head of the agricultural department of DroneUA, XAG Ukraine, considered the advantages of using agricultural drones in contrast to the traditional service, and also emphasized the timeliness of agricultural operations according to the technological map of the culture, which is an important factor for increasing productivity.
The expert noted a significant saving of water and fuel and lubricants, which significantly reduces the costs of agricultural operations, thanks to the use of agricultural drones.
Anatoliy Bezolyuk also emphasized the profitability of the agrodrone not only for large agricultural holdings, but also for small farming enterprises in the future, which will allow agricultural operations to be carried out regardless of the schedules of service teams. The purchase of an agricultural drone will allow you to carry out agricultural operations on time, which is guaranteed to increase productivity and increase profits.
DroneUA thanks experts and partners for conducting experiments and demonstrating the results of joint experiments within the online conference. The presented research results will help to improve the management of agricultural operations and modernize the modern agricultural industry, and the use of unmanned technologies will allow not only to increase yield, but also to improve the quality of products.
And in order to find out the exact calculations and receive scientifically based conclusions of experts, based on the results of the experiment conducted between DroneUA and partners, leave your contacts via the link.
By leaving your contacts in the form, you will receive a video recording of the conference and speakers' presentations, in which:
- the percentage ratio regarding the reduction of the negative impact of pests and diseases on experimental types of crops thanks to agrodrones: winter wheat, winter rapeseed, sunflower, corn;
- a percentage increase in the productive area of the field due to the absence of technological tracks on winter wheat, corn, sunflower;
- percentage and monetary indicators regarding the increase in sunflower yield thanks to the pollination of the culture by bees;
- calculation of additional yield of crops on the experimental site thanks to agrodrones: sunflower, winter wheat, corn.
