Ukraine is one of the world's leading agricultural and technological countries, actively integrating and using robotic solutions in agriculture. It is DroneUA's leadership in modernising agricultural production processes at all stages and the active implementation of innovative solutions that allows us to strengthen the domestic agricultural industry and thus create a new market for professions.
Currently, Ukraine is experiencing an increased demand for specialists who are able to work with modern technologies, which is an important condition for the further development of the agricultural sector and the economy as a whole. Cooperation with educational institutions plays an important role in this process, allowing us to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience in the field.
Last week, DroneUA visited the separate structural unit Ladyzhyn Vocational College of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University as part of the expansion of its partnership in education with vocational schools.
Anatoliy Bezolyuk, Head of DroneUA, XAG Ukraine, shared his many years of expertise in agro-drone technology, namely ultra-low-volume spraying (ULV), during a meeting with the college management and teaching staff.
During the visit, the parties also discussed aspects of a potential partnership that will open up opportunities for training specialists in the speciality 8990 ‘Operator of Remotely Piloted Unmanned Aerial Vehicles’.
In particular, Anatolii Bezoliuk noted the importance of training blue-collar specialists for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, as current global trends tend to maximise the integration of agrodrones into production processes, which requires professional training to work with modern equipment:
“We are interested in cooperating with colleges because the market needs qualified agrodrones operators and service specialists for repair and maintenance of agrodrones”.
Reorganising vocational education to meet the current and projected needs of the country's economy requires the creation of an effective system of training the necessary specialists, in which business plays a key role by setting the main trends and directions of industry development.
State regulation of the creation of new qualifications for working professions and, accordingly, the modernisation of curricula, taking into account the demands of the labour market dictated by business and innovative technologies, is already underway: On 1 February 2024, a new speciality, 8990 “Operator of remotely piloted unmanned aerial vehicles”, was added to the qualification register.
The licensing of the speciality in an educational institution is preceded by the creation of a material and technical base, training of teaching staff, curriculum and signing of a memorandum with business structures, so DroneUA, as an integral part of this process, will continue to exchange experience between business and science in integrating agrodrones into production processes for the development of the domestic agricultural sector.
