Amid global climate challenges and environmental threats, monitoring and maintaining environmental cleanliness are crucial for the sustainable development of any country. Ukraine, currently undergoing the process of regional recovery, urgently needs modern technological solutions that allow for effective assessment of environmental conditions and the prompt implementation of measures to improve them.
One of the critically important aspects is air quality monitoring, especially in industrial regions, where high pollution levels can not only harm the environment but also have a negative impact on the health of local residents. That’s why DroneUA, together with international partners, has joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) initiative with the support of the Swedish Government.
The initiative is aimed at monitoring air quality in industrial agglomerations and providing technical assistance. DroneUA’s participation in such projects highlights the importance of cooperation between business, international organizations, and local authorities in addressing environmental issues.
The portable air monitoring stations provided by DroneUA include Sniffer4D Mini2 gas analyzers from the international partner Soarability, which are compatible with drones from leading manufacturers and enable quick and precise pollution level detection. This solution opens up new opportunities for ensuring environmental safety and preserving natural resources.
Importantly, in addition to providing technical solutions, the DroneUA team conducts training for local authorities and relevant services on how to effectively use the equipment. A training session in Dnipro, conducted by the Head of GIS and Surveying at DroneUA, Hlib Lisovyi, enabled participants to master monitoring technologies and work with the corresponding software.
In the series of equipment delivery events, leaders from the relevant departments of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Sumy region are participating: the Department of Ecological Policy of Dnipro City Council, the Department of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Sumy Regional State Administration, and the Department of Ecology of the Executive Committee of Kryvyi Rih City Council.
These projects are not only part of Ukraine's ecological strategy but also a step toward the implementation of innovative technologies, which become an important tool in the fight for a clean environment and quality life.
