The head of the Club, Elena Zubareva, noted that this topic is relevant for the whole world, because economic growth, social development, and climate protection measures directly depend on industrial development and innovation.
“Today in the world, approximately 1-1.15 billion people do not have access to telephone communications, 25 billion people do not have access to sanitation, 800 million people do not have access to water resources. In developing countries, only 30% of agricultural products are industrially processed. Therefore, innovative solutions are essential to achieve balance and harmonization of society,” said the head of the Club.
Elena Zubareva noted that the World Economic Forum recently presented the TOP 10 emerging technologies for 2020:
- Microneedles. Capable of painlessly penetrating the skin and making injections
— Photocatalysts. Solar energy that converts carbon dioxide into common materials
— Virtual patient — replacing people with simulators for clinical research
— Spatial computing is a new step towards augmented reality
— Digital medicine — applications that diagnose and treat what ails us
— An electric aircraft engine is a breakthrough for all of us. CO2 savings
— Low carbon cement
— Quantum sensing
— Green hydrogen - carbon-free energy
— Whole Genome Synthesis — cell engineering of a new level
“All this, to one degree or another, will help humanity solve the main task - to create favorable conditions for human life without causing harm to the environment.”
General Director of the Ecopan company Olga Romanenko spoke about innovations in construction as the key to an environmentally friendly and safe future.
“Modern residential complexes are capable of producing more energy than they need to function. This significantly reduces costs and conserves natural resources. There are already such structures in Ukraine. There are only a few of them so far, but following the example of Europe, we will also switch to energy-efficient complexes. The presence of everything necessary in the home for a person’s quality life, harmony and balance with the environment is the main vector of our development.”
Co-owner of DroneUA company Valery Yakovenko is convinced that new technologies in business are not just more economically profitable - they help save resources, positively affect the quality of work in related industries, create new working conditions for personnel and help create a whole layer of new specialties. The most prominent example is drone sprayer technology, which is the next step in the evolution of agricultural tools.
Already, more than 40,000,000 hectares have been processed by drones in the world, which has saved more than 20 thousand tons of pesticides, helping to create organic products. In addition, drones have saved more than 8,000,000 tons of water, which is becoming a valuable resource for every farmer.
“Innovative technologies are the basis of modern responsible business,” says the speaker.
Head of YASNO Public Relations Department Anton Kovalishin spoke about how energy efficient projects contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
“By implementing an energy-efficient project in a company, government agency or residential sector, we simultaneously contribute to improving the environment, introducing innovation, creating a healthy and safe indoor environment, providing clean energy, modernizing infrastructure, helping cities to be more sustainable, and also developing a culture of responsible consumption and production.
Energy efficiency and conservation also help reduce energy poverty by making energy more accessible through efficient use. By introducing an energy efficient project, we simultaneously contribute to the achievement of 9 of the 17 Goals.”
The expert also shared the results of the implementation of 86 energy efficient projects that the energy service company YASNO Efficiency financed and implemented on a turnkey basis, achieving savings of 30 to 90% at industrial enterprises and social facilities (schools, kindergartens, hospitals). The company's clients annually save UAH 346 million in energy costs, 175 million kWh of electricity and 1,100,000 m3 of natural gas, which is equivalent to reducing CO2 emissions by 160 thousand tons per year.
Summing up the meeting, we would like to thank all the participants and the “Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs” for the opportunity to convey our ideas and share our experience with the public. Such meetings inspire and encourage us to create even more interesting innovative projects and make our business social.
The Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs is the first united force of independent Ukrainian entrepreneurs, created outside of political interests in order to protect the interests of entrepreneurs and create a favorable business environment in Ukraine.
