DroneUA joins the USAID program for agricultural and rural development (AGRO), which aims to accelerate the economic development of rural communities in Ukraine by improving governance in the agricultural sector.
As part of the program, to solve key problems for micro and small agricultural producers, it is proposed to create centers of agricultural competences, which can become centers of agrohubs at the local level.
The models of the centers should provide the needs of agricultural producers in means of production, service and information and consulting services at the local level. Also, they can become a kind of interest clubs for small producers - that is, help where it is difficult to solve the issue alone.
Agricultural competence centers are specifically aimed at access to new technologies and farming methods:
Precision farming – farmers will be able to work with drones and perform analysis based on data received through drones.
Diagnostics in field and laboratory conditions - there is an opportunity to analyze soil and measure its moisture content, analyze water, seed material, analyze vegetables and fruits for nitrate residues, leaf diagnosis of plants and micro-expertise of plants on the basis of agrohubs.
Supplying small farmers with means of agricultural production and quality service support - in this way, small producers can avoid counterfeiting and start cooperating with large companies.
Collective sales by small producers of grown products, transformation of a number of small batches into larger wholesale ones - thanks to this, farmers will receive higher profits and greater predictability of their work.
According to USAID program expert Natalia Tabinska, only 10% of Ukrainian agricultural enterprises use drones on about 10% of Ukrainian agricultural land.
