Modern drone technologies and AI-based software solutions are actively transforming approaches to agriculture, particularly by optimising agricultural production processes.
Pix4D, a Swiss partner of DroneUA specialising in photogrammetry and mapping software, is expanding its precision farming capabilities with the release of Pix4Dfields 2.12. With this update, specialists can now use high-resolution satellite imagery and benefit from VRA support for EAVision sprayer drones.
Access to high-resolution satellite data in Pix4Dfields
Pix4Dfields is a universal software solution for precision farming. Its key features enable users to obtain accurate crop insights, generate crop damage reports, detect weeds using artificial intelligence, and perform a wide range of agronomic analyses.
The Pix4Dfields 2.12 update introduces access to satellite data with a spatial resolution of up to 30 cm per pixel. This enhancement bridges the gap between detailed, field-level drone data and satellite monitoring of large areas, which traditionally offered resolutions of 10 – 30 m per pixel.
Pix4Dfields also supports integration with Vantor satellite imagery at resolutions of 30–70 cm, accessible through Pix4D credits.

By using the new updates in their work, agricultural specialists will:
- obtain more detailed information about their fields;
- be able to remotely assess crops to generate actionable vegetation indices and data for precise application of plant protection products;
- minimise the number of physical field visits, optimising the time spent working on each specific site.

VRA support for EAVision spray drones
Another key feature introduced in the Pix4Dfields 2.12 update is support for variable rate application (VRA) missions for EAVision spray drones. Users can now create precise prescription maps to deliver active ingredients exactly where they are needed.
Optimising dosages for maximum efficiency and reduced costs makes each flight more profitable and sustainable. Fertilisers, pesticides, and growth regulators can now be applied more intelligently.
Additionally, the 2.12 update includes support for ABZ Innovation L and S series spray drones.
