Up to 100 squats and 300 kg of load per shift: How Hypershell exoskeletons were tested by ZAKAZ.UA in the e-grocery sector
Physical strain on retail and delivery workers is a critical part of their daily routine, though it often goes unnoticed. However, it’s the workers’ endurance that directly impacts the speed and effectiveness of operations: order fulfillment, constant movement between zones, handling heavy goods, and deliveries. All of these factors contribute to the cumulative physical load during the shift.
Hypershell exoskeletons continue to demonstrate their value as a supportive technology in real-world working conditions. The team at ZAKAZ.UA, one of the leaders in the e-grocery market in Ukraine, tested the exoskeletons in their usual work environment, assessing their impact on endurance, work stability, and overall employee well-being.

During the test, employees covered dozens of kilometers a day, constantly moving without breaks. In these conditions, the Hypershell exoskeleton proved to be an effective tool for easing physical strain. The initial results confirmed the key hypothesis: the exoskeleton provides noticeable relief, particularly in reducing strain on the back and knees during squats and working with heavy loads, according to ZAKAZ.UA employees.

Additionally, in retail and delivery, it’s not just about speed, but also the ability to maintain a steady pace throughout the shift. For instance, couriers may cover up to 50 floors a day without an elevator, where each step counts. According to employee feedback, the exoskeleton reduced strain during the climb by up to 50%, which is critical when performing repetitive tasks throughout the day, especially during power outages.
Wearable robotics technologies are continually unlocking new opportunities across industries, including retail and delivery. With exoskeletons, companies can reduce physical fatigue among employees while maintaining high productivity levels. This not only boosts operational efficiency but also improves employee well-being by reducing stress and fatigue.
As a technological integrator, DroneUA continues to actively promote the concept of wearable robotics in Ukraine and establish the right approach to using such technologies in business environments.
DroneUA will continue testing exoskeletons in various scenarios, both in retail and delivery, and confirm their potential as a tool for enhancing and supporting human physical capabilities.
DroneUA would like to thank ZAKAZ.UA for their openness to new technologies and willingness to test solutions that are already shaping the future of work culture in Ukraine.
