Thanks to spraying drones and ground-based robotic systems for agriculture, these were busy months of integration of modern pesticide and fertilizer application technologies into Ukrainian agribusiness.

The project was implemented in 15 regions of Ukraine. Farmers from Rivne, Volyn, Kyiv, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Lviv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions took part in the program.

During the season in more than 100 applications of pesticides and fertilizers took place within the framework of the Project. In general, a wide range of crops has been treated with drone sprayers, including this – corn, wheat, sunflower, buckwheat, currant, watermelon, melon, Chinese cabbage, broccoli, onion, eggplant, tomato, pepper, blueberry, strawberry, apple tree.

Sprayers or specialized agricultural robots have already been used by more than 90 farmers throughout Ukraine, who were convinced by their own experience of the availability of agricultural drones and their effectiveness. Resource-saving technology and additional benefits in the form of efficiency of application and minimization of plant damage have become a strong argument in favor of spraying drones.

Increasing yield and efficiency on each hectare – priority goal of Ukrainian agricultural producers in 2022. During the season, DroneUA together with USAID Agro worked on ensuring food security in Ukraine and the world, as well as restoring the economic activity of agricultural producers and building a strong and viable market system.

Already, agricultural drones are increasing the efficiency of agricultural production and are becoming the main tool for prompt and timely processing of crops: the technology of application of pesticides by spraying drones allows you to work immediately after rain and in places that are difficult for ground sprayers to reach. In addition, spraying drones allow not only to save up to 30% of pesticides through ultra-low-volume application, but also reduce fuel and water consumption by 90-95%.

Thank you to the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development &ndash ; AGRO, for the opportunity created for agricultural producers with different land banks to integrate innovative technologies into their farms and carry out timely application on their crops.

We would like to remind you that the Project was made possible thanks to the support of the American people, provided through the US Agency for International of Development (USAID) within the framework of the USAID Program for Agrarian and Rural Development (AGRO), which is implemented by Chemonics International.
