This year the “Best Agricultural Practice” competition will celebrate its first anniversary - 5 years. During this period, the editors of AgroPortal.ua met about 500 students from various agricultural educational institutions of Ukraine. The scale is truly impressive, but the main goal of the competition remained unchanged: to find out first-hand , how students undergo practical training, whether they need the knowledge acquired in educational institutions for this, and also with what baggage they want to return to their student bench.
Thanks to the competition, educational institutions can understand what exactly a student needs to study.
“Each participant in the “Best Agricultural Practice” competition can demonstrate what he really expects from his production practice, and what, in his opinion, it should be. This allows us to look at the issue of internship through the eyes of a student, which is very important,” says Vladimir Ladyka, Rector of Sumy National Agrarian University. — The competition motivates the student to take the internship seriously and consciously, and also stimulates creativity and develops creative abilities. And a creative approach to your work, as you know, allows you to achieve better results."
Last year, DroneUA supported the competition for the first time and provided three finalists with training certificates for the specialty “UAV operator”. However, only the winner of the competition took advantage of this opportunity.
“At first there was theoretical training: what programs to use when stitching together photos for a common map, what controls the drone has and, in general, what they are,” says Andrey Bezverkhy. “Then there was practice, and we flew and found out what functions the drones have.”
“For DroneUA, participation in such programs is an opportunity to help future colleagues get closer to the tools of precision farming and try them out in practice. Drones are the future, not a single farmer can do without this tool in his work,” says Valery Yakovenko, co-founder of DroneUA.
