In early September, the DroneUA company group attended one of the most powerful events in the global commercial drone market, the Commercial UAV Expo held in the USA.
The event showcased the world's most advanced technologies, including unmanned solutions, software products, and accompanying equipment for use with drones.
Current technology trends are focusing on improving connectivity and extending flight durations. There's a noticeable increase in competitive American and British manufacturers in the global robotics market.
Particular attention should be paid to technologies that would be beneficial for Ukraine:
"Firstly, communication technologies — everything that deals with drone communication. These include satellite technologies and alternative navigation solutions in situations when GPS connectivity is disrupted or absent. Interestingly, in this direction, Ukraine sets trends and shapes the vision of how technologies can develop, as Ukrainian manufacturers were present at the exhibition, sharing their new products. As for our mission, we continuously search for new technologies and consider new drone suppliers because Ukraine needs such a large amount of unmanned equipment that it's simply impossible to find globally. We need all the world's drones, and at exhibitions like this, we can find good technological solutions for ourselves and conduct key negotiations regarding the quantity and quality of products that Ukraine can obtain for its purposes," notes Valeriy Yakovenko, co-founder of the DroneUA company group.
The Commercial UAV Expo was exclusively dedicated to the commercial use of drones in fields such as geodesy, topography, agriculture, telecommunications, and renewable energy. The security sector introduced developments from several Ukrainian companies. One of them is Bavovna AI. The exhibition revealed that they have entered the acceleration program of the US Department of Defense.
Overall, on the global stage, the attention to Ukrainian engineers is tremendous. And their solutions will be widely applied. The main trend today is artificial intelligence that allows drones to have their navigation. The efforts of domestic developers enable the creation of autopilot systems that operate without the influence of external navigation elements.
"Ukraine is setting trends today. We saw just a few Ukrainian engineers presenting their products, but we believe that next year, Ukraine will deserve its separate booth. And there's already a conversation about this with the Ministry of Digital Transformation. In a year, Ukrainian engineers will present not just one, but more than ten developments that were born during the war but can be used specifically in the commercial segment to ensure security issues in civilian life," says Valeriy Yakovenko.
Today, in the global drone market, Ukraine leads in terms of equipment quantity and the number of engineers who use this equipment specifically in the field of robotics and drones.
