At the beginning of 2022, the Insurance Company "Motor-Garant" made the first payment of compensation for an insured event within the framework of the "DRON" insurance product.
DRON insurance product includes two insurance programs:
- CASCO — insurance protection of the drone;
- third party liability insurance.
The insurance product covers those insurance cases that are not included in the manufacturer's warranty system.
According to the manufacturer's conditions, the equipment is provided with an official warranty for a period of 12 months, which is extended only if the drone is used in accordance with the operating rules specified in the manufacturer's instructions and under appropriate conditions: temperature regime, wind, etc., and is valid only in cases of factory defects . Also, during the delivery of the equipment, personnel are trained on safety techniques and the use of equipment for mapping needs.
In this way, damage caused by intentional or unintentional actions of pilots is not compensated. In order to take into account these risks, UAV owners can take out additional insurance that will cover such cases. This is exactly what DroneUA's client, the Coal Chemical Laboratory LLC company, did by issuing the "DRON" insurance product.
The essence of the insured event
In September 2021, the supply of the Phantom 4 RTK quadcopter was completed to the company LLC "Coal Chemical Laboratory".
Two months after the delivery of the equipment and training for the company's employees, an incident occurred in which the drone was damaged.
Representatives of "Coal Chemical Laboratory" LLC immediately reported the incident to the insurance company and sent the drone to the DroneUA service center.< /p>
Given that the equipment was covered by the manufacturer's official warranty, DroneUA representatives submitted a corresponding request for warranty service, but upon analysis of the black box of the drone, it was recorded that the fall occurred due to conditions that are not covered by warranty obligations of the manufacturing plant.
According to the results of the preliminary assessment, the cost of repairs, including the cost of spare parts, amounted to more than UAH 85,000.
After analyzing the information provided by the DroneUA Service Center, Motor-Garant Insurance Company settled the insurance case and paid compensation.
Therefore, 10% of the repair cost was reimbursed at the expense of the franchise of Coal Chemical Laboratory LLC, and 90% at the expense of insurance.
The additional insurance package from the Motor-Garant Insurance Company allows you to cover most of the risks that may arise during the operation of drones.
