Kievteploenergo, with the support of DroneUA, will monitor the condition of Kyiv heating networks using drones in the new heating season. The main task of unmanned platforms — prompt identification of possible damage and “weak points”; heating networks, heat losses, monitoring the condition of energy equipment and preventing interruptions in the operation of utilities.
Thanks to unmanned platforms with a payload in the form of industrial visual sensors and thermal imagers, Kievteploenergo diagnostic specialists will be able to inspect the capital’s heating facilities: identify heat losses and possible coolant leaks, monitor the condition of boiler house chimneys, cooling towers, and air-laying heating mains.< /p>
The obtained data, linked to Kievteploenergo heat generation sources, will be entered into the geo-information system of Kyiv heating networks. Kievteploenergo specialists were trained at the DroneUA training center and received certificates for managing industrial unmanned platforms.
The aero division of Kievteploenergo has no analogues in the heat power industry of Ukraine. However, drones as a tool for inspecting utility networks have already proven their effectiveness in European cities.
«Kiev has one of the largest, extensive and complex centralized heating systems in Europe. It was built more than half a century ago and wear rates reach 80%. It is impossible to replace 2.7 thousand km of networks in a year or two. Last year, a large-scale network replacement program began in Kyiv. At the same time, we carefully prepare networks and heating equipment for the heating season in order to minimize the likelihood of damage and heat outages in winter. Aero monitoring has already proven its effectiveness during testing. During the heating season, this technology will speed up the search for existing and potential network damage, and this, in turn, will minimize inconvenience for customers due to shutdowns of hot water and heating. noted Vasily Derevitsky, director of the joint venture "Kyiv Heating Networks" KP Kievteploenergo » .
Recall that Kievteploenergo is replacing worn-out heating networks in the capital for the second year in a row. In two years, 230 kilometers of worn-out heating mains in all administrative districts of the city were transferred. On the eve of 2021, with the support of DroneUA, Kyivteploenergo introduced an innovative approach to the study of utility networks.
